June Members Meeting

A recap of the June monthly members meeting.

At this month’s member meeting, we explored one of the most vital components in the cancer care journey: the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Kai Han and Tina Di from Panda and Friends Patient Network, one of our member organizations, shared powerful insights into how an effective MDT can fill critical gaps in care, especially in areas with limited resources.

The conversation highlighted the fact that cancer is not just a physical illness. It affects every part of a person’s life emotionally, psychologically, socially, and financially. MDTs brings together a team of experts who collaborate to develop a comprehensive, patient-centered care plan.

What stood out most was the reminder that when the right people are around the table, patients don’t fall through the gaps. Early diagnosis, smooth referral pathways, emotional support, and coordinated treatment all become possible. MDTs offer hope where fragmented systems often lead to frustration, delays, and poor outcomes.

As a community of advocates, caregivers, and survivors, our hearts are full. This conversation reminded us that collaboration saves lives. When we bring together different voices with a shared goal of the patient’s well-being, we move one step closer to equity in cancer care.

Together, we are transforming care.

Our next meeting is July 22nd at 10 PM UTC, we hope you’ll join us!
