April Member Meeting

A recap of April's member meeting with speakers Andrew Spiegel, Esq. and Dr. Deepak Govil.

At our powerful recent member meeting , we explored the landscape of colorectal cancer in India, with a strong focus on the role of policy in driving meaningful change.

GCCA's CEO, Andrew Spiegel spoke about our Transforming Policy program, touching on the different ways GCCA participates in the policy sphere. After discussing the Policy Scorecard for India, Andrew introduced Dr. Deepak Govil to give us more context on the state of colorectal cancer in India.

The discussion highlighted both the progress being made and the urgent gaps that remain from early detection and screening challenges to disparities in access to care. What stood out most was the critical importance of policy advocacy in shaping sustainable, system-wide solutions that can truly impact patient outcomes.

We were reminded that behind every statistic is a lived experience, and that policy is not just paperwork, it is a pathway to dignity, equity, and survival for so many.

We are grateful to our speakers and members for such rich insights, honest conversations, and a shared commitment to advancing colorectal cancer awareness and care globally.

Our next meeting is on May 20th at 15:00 UTC. We hope you’ll join us!
