The Global Colon Cancer Association actively participates in conferences, conventions, expos and healthcare symposia throughout the world.
Andrew Spiegel, our organization's Executive Director, is a frequent guest speaker and welcomes invitations to moderate, discuss and present on a variety of subjects related to colorectal cancer, advocacy and private and public sector support.
In September 2016, the GCCA held two conferences in conjunction with the 3rd annual All Against Cancer Congress in São Paulo, Brazil. The larger congress brought together nearly 3,000 stakeholders working to improve the healthcare systems for the cancer community across Latin America. The GCCA’s first conference focused on colon cancer, and the second on biologics/biosimilars. The conferences brought together expertise and experience in how to build patient-centered healthcare and provided a platform for high-level policy discussion.
In September 2017, The Global Colon Cancer Association will return to Brazil to hold conferences in conjunction with the 4th All Together Against Cancer Congress.
The conferences will expand upon the work we started in 2016 to continue our efforts to raise awareness of colon cancer and ensure the patient voice is heard by policymakers. Executive Director Andrew Spiegel will be included in the panels on colon cancer and biologics/biosimilars. Attendees will include patient groups, patients, healthcare professionals, industry professionals, academics, government payors, regulators, and healthcare agencies.
